What I Wore Wednesday

This is my second time doing WIWW and the first included my 30 for 30 challenge.  Well...that didn't go as I had hoped!  I couldn't have chosen a worse time to attempt that challenge, so unfortunately I had to give up, for now!  When my body and the weather decide to stabilize a bit, I will try this again.

This has once again been a very busy week for me.  We are finally starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel when it comes to baby girl's nursery and the rest of the house is coming together nicely as well!  Because of the busy week, I was only able to get a few of my outfits.  I will try harder next week to remember to get dressed  take pictures of my outfits!

Chaos

Sooo I haven't posted in what seems like forever (really only a week) but that's still a while!  I promise to catch up on my 30 for 30 posts as soon as possible!

It has been a REALLY busy week week for me!  We FINALLY started on little peanut's nursery and have made quite a bit of progress for just one week! Especially because of what we are working with!  We currently rent our house and while we would much rather move to a larger place, that's just not practical for us right now, so we are having to convert our "play room" (with ugly dark wood paneling) into the baby's nursery.  I have had to be pretty inventive thinking of ways to cover the monstrosity that is the wood paneling, and since we can't paint we are starching fabric to the walls.  If you have never heard of this, it's pretty neat! I will post a step by step tutorial soon but basically you just take liquid starch and roll it onto the walls like paint, then apply your fabric, and finally cover your fabric in the starch and let dry.  So far it has worked really well!
This is the first fabric panel I did before it has been trimmed.  Pretty neat huh!  It has made such an impact in the room, I'm just hoping the rest of the room looks as good!  Along with a majority of the walls, we have cleaned out the closet and put together the crib! Yay!

On top of turning my house completely upside down, we also had Ainsley's 5th birthday party on Saturday.  I can't believe she is five! The party was really nice and I was smart enough not to have it at our house and at a park instead.  The weather was absolutely perfect and the kids had a blast.  It was a cupcake party so the kids got to decorate their own cupcakes.  When they arrived I had them decorate aprons (for the sanity of the parent) and they really enjoyed making their own and wearing them.  We had a simple hot dog lunch and let the kids play on the playground after. When it was finally time to decorate the cupcakes the kids were so excited.  They all did such a great job!  The party ended after Ainsley opened her mound of presents that we added to the tornado in our living room!  All in all it was a great party, we couldn't have asked for more!

In addition to everything else that happened this past week, I had some major assignments due for my class (I am currently in school part time for interior design). SO, needless to say, it has been absolute chaos this week.  I am so tired I can't think straight and unfortunately, I don't have time to be tired!

So here's to hoping I can get everything done in baby's room, before she arrives, get my assignments done on time, make sure I have time to spend with the Huzby and Ainsley, clean the house, cook dinner, and save the world too!

Awkward and Awesome

This post is inspired by Sydney over at The Daybook.  I absolutely love her site!
I thought I would do my own awkward and awesome because honestly, there is a whole lot of awkward going on at almost 8 months pregnant!

Awkward:

  • Trying to shave my legs and almost losing my balance and falling out of the shower.
  • Attempting to paint my toenails, only to remember the shaving incident. Toenails can wait (unfortunately, shaving cannot!)
  • Having to pee literally every five minutes!
  • The wide-eyed stares I get from random people, and then the even wider eyes when I tell them I still have until November.  (I have a very small torso people!)
  • Trying to pick anything up off of the ground. I have found a way to accomplish this and let me tell ya' it's not a pretty sight (one leg straightened out to the side while I attempt to lower the rest of my body)
  • A elderly lady at a restaurant asking if I was having a boy.  Me politely correcting her and her telling me there was no way and to "turn around", I did as she asked and her response what "oh I guess so".  I'm still trying to figure out how my backside was able to reveal the gender of little miss!
Awesome:

  • This new candle I just bought that smells like pumpkin pie! I may be jumping the gun a little but the smell is SO worth it!
  • Getting to wear my new burgundy (NON-maternity) pants. Love them!
  • Ainsley telling me that she wants to be an animal doctor and a Momma like me when she grows up! (I am only the Momma part, not the animal doctor)
  • Ainsley singing "You're the best around" to me in the car (note: this was right after buying party supplies for her birthday but I will gladly accept the gratitude)
  • Football Sunday! I can't explain how happy I was! (The Panthers lost, but they still played!)
  • I get to see this little peanut on Friday! I'm pretty excited to see how she's grown! The last time I saw Ainsley before she was born was around 17 weeks, so, being 31 weeks should be quite a different picture!

High Five for Friday!

Linking up with Lauren at From My Grey Desk for another High Five for Friday!

1-The weather has FINALLY cooled off a bit! It's not chilly, but for NC I will take it! (I just hope I don't jinx it!)
2- The cooler weather means I get to wear these awesome things!

3-Spending Labor Day at home with my three favorite people!  Boring, I know, but at 7 1/2 months preggo, it's nice to have nothing on your agenda and an extra set of hands around the house!
4-My sweet nephew finally got his cast off! He is almost 3 and has had a cast from his waist down for the past 6 months!
5-Knowing that I only have 10 more weeks(maybe a little less!) until we get to meet baby girl!

Hope you all have had a great week as well!

Update from the Peanut Gallery- The big 3-0

No, I don't mean 30 years old, I mean 30 weeks preggo!!
Just thought I would give a little update on how the little peanut and I are doing:

  • Weight gain: I've done really well this time around and have only gained a total of 13 lbs!! (WAY less than when I was preggo with Ainsley)
  • Baby girl likes to dance! I mean seriously, I don't think she ever sleeps!
  • Sleep-HA! When I'm not getting up to use the bathroom, I'm trying to get comfortable all the while, she is busy doing jazzercise in my belly!
  • The good ole' doc called today to inform me that I have a slight case of anemia. Time to double down on the iron, sooo yeah that should make my bathroom trips non-existent! Sorry TMI!
  • Stretch Marks- Unfortunately, they haven't gone anywhere since my last pregnancy! Bummer!
  • Belly Button is popped like a turkey timer
  • My mood has been pretty good other than the small amount of stress I am under to find a new place, hopefully before this kiddo makes her debut!
  • Nursery-see above! Thinking about this makes my head hurt! All I want to do is decorate a nursery but you can't decorate something you don't have! Fingers crossed this next week or so will be productive on the home front!
  • My energy level is pretty high!  I guess right now I don't really have a choice, between Ainsley's preschool and choir practice, my school work, cooking, and housework (or intentions of doing housework but really blogging) I don't have time to think about how tired I am!
  • I am now seeing the doc. every two weeks, which should make time really fly by (hello anxiety!).  Next week I have another ultrasound to make sure this old placenta of mine has gotten out of the way, so fingers crossed, and I'm really excited to get to see peanut again!

What I Wore Wednesday/ 30 for 30 week 1

So when I started this blog I knew I wanted to incorporate some sort of fashion post every week.  I came across this awesome blog, Momma's Me Time, and she features a what I wore post.  So basically I'm stealing this idea and for the time being meshing it with my 30 for 30 posts!

Onto my 30 for 30 challenge!  As I mentioned in my original post here, I will more than likely break a few rules.  Well it turns out I have already done so!  I cannot fit into my cropped jeans and have had to go out and purchase maternity jeans. Also I am convinced that if I keep thinking and dressing like it's fall that cooler weather will arrive, so I have taken my shorts out of the mix as well and swapped them for these awesome burgundy pants!  Also, I had to swap my black tee for a longer white tee.  I'm pretty sure no one wants to see me walking around with my belly hanging out of my shirt!  Last change was swapping my black/brown wedges for my Sperrys.  I squeezed my foot into them for one outfit last week and sadly realized my poor swollen feet just aren't cut out for those shoes right now!
I know that I have made a lot of changes, but in my defense, I made these changes before actually starting the challenge, so I'm technically not cheating!

So just to recap:

Now that I have cleared that up, here are this past weeks outfits:
